In addition there will be a short presentation on working with collections at the Department of Revenue (DOR) and the “Fresh Start” Initiative The Fresh State Initiative was legislation designed to upgrade the DORs collection processes to more closely reflect those of the IRS. This legislation was vigorously opposed by the DOR. Passage of this legislation would require the DOR collections to work more reasonably with tax practitioners to resolve delinquency problems in a practical and humane fashion.
